The company, owned by the Native American Mohegan tribe, was chosen by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. through a competitive bidding process, Ontario Lottery and Gaming said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The two casinos are currently operated by Falls Management Group, which has run them since Casino Niagara opened in 1996. Its contract with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. runs out in July.
Mohegan will take over operations beginning next summer and span the next 21 years. Mohegan Gaming owns the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut as well as the Connecticut Sun, a team in the Women's National Basketball Association.
